VALENCIA, SHAPES UNCOVERED

The Spanish city of Valencia was selected as World Design Capital 2022, and the IVACE (Valencian institute of business competence) commissioned our team to curate and design its exhibition at the Berlin design week 22. Fundbüro was in charge of the selection of the location, selection of participants, curation of products, graphic and exhibition design. The exhibition featured pieces by some of the most talented manufacturers and designers from the Valencian Region, and was celebrated in one of the most iconic locations in Berlin, Hallesches Haus.

For its design, we chose to create a neutral environment in which the pieces of furniture would stand out, using the color black, which is so closely linked to the city of Berlin. Through the use of curtains and carpets, a route was delimited along the building that took visitors through the different stands. The interior was reserved for indoor pieces, and the exhibition of the IF Awards winners, while the garden was reserved for outdoor furniture, closing the exhibition with a video installation from the World Design Capital. In addition, furniture from the exhibitors was used to create social areas where participants could meet with clients and other professionals.

As a highlight, an installation was created taking advantage of the architecture of the place in which the ceramic and textile products were exhibited as “tongues” in order to elevate these products to the level they deserve. Products related to the tradition and craftsmanship of the Valencia area.

For the event, we had the pleasure to work with some of the bigger brands in the area. The exhibition featured the innovative furniture by @capdell ,   @agrippacollection ,  @actiu_com , @coleccionalexandra , @koointernational and @point1920_official , the imaginative textiles by @naturtex_sl and @deltacarpet , as well as the bright lighting from @ole_lighting and @acbiluminacion , without forgetting the stunning tile designs by @aztecaceramica , @gayafores_company and @cevicadecotiles .We were also commissioned to design the @ifdesign Awards booth, were the winners from the 2022 edition were exhibited.
